It is about two<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">matter in a civilised manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos. The play was a success in its original<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">language, French, and has been equally acclaimed in its other English-translated productions<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in both London and New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Group<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Holycross-Ballycahill Drama Group are in existence for almost fifty years. They are based in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the picturesque village of Holycross, alongside the well know Holycross Abbey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The group have reached the All-Ireland Confined finals on many occasions, and have won<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">numerous acting, directing and set awards, not only in the country\u2019s festivals, but also in the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All-Ireland itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cSive\u201d by John B. Keane; \u201cRun for Your Wife\u201d by Ray Cooney; \u201cWoman and Scarecrow\u201d by<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Marina Carr and T.S. Eliot\u2019s \u201cMurder in the Cathedral\u201d are among the great variety of critically<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">acclaimed productions that the group have performed around the country. We have even<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">travelled to Germany, by special invitation from the American forces based there, to stage our<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">award winning play, \u201cThe Beauty Queen of Leenane\u201d by Martin McDonagh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Saturday 16th March <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Open)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Raftery\u2019s Hill by Marina Carr (NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Yellow Moon Theatre Company)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synopsis of the Play<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Setting: The Kitchen of the Raftery household, rural midlands, Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Period: The present.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Set on the remote hill of Raftery\u2019s farm, this play tells the tale of Red Raftery and his children. Removed from the civilised world of the valley,Red lives by his own brutal rules. Existing in this purgatory is Dinah Raftery, the eldest child, who has sacrificed a future for herself to take care of her father, grandmother Shalome, and her siblings; her brother ded and young Sorrel, \u201cthe wan perfect thing in this house\u201d, soon to be wed to Dara Mood from the valley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brief history of the group:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yellow Moon is a drama group based in Gorey, Co. Wexford,that was formed by the team, cast and crew, that won the Confined All Ireland in 2010 with Brian Friel\u2019s \u201cTranslations\u201d as part of the Ferns Drama Group. Our first production was in summer 2011 \u201cAll in Favour Said No\u201d by Bernard Farrell. We performed on the circuit last year with \u201c\u201dOur Country\u2019s Good\u201d by Timberlake wertenbaker and had a successful run with\u201dOut of Order\u201d by Ray Cooney summer 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sunday 17th March<\/span> (Confined)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">War by Roddy Doyle<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Dunmore Amateur Dramatic Society)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Symposia of the Play : In the world of the Pub Quiz, where men are men and the questions sting like crazy, George knows the Capital City of every country while Bertie can sniff out a trick question from a hundred paces. Once a month these two giants of the Quiz lock eyes across the Irish pub, but tonight &#8211; can George rally his team and beat the unbeatable Bertie and, bring him to his knees? It\u2019s not just a game \u2013 IT\u2019S WAR.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Group : D.A.D.S \u2013 Dunmore Amateur Dramatic Society was formed in 2002 to revive a long standing tradition of drama in Dunmore. D.A.D.S went onto the Confined Three Act Festival Circuit for the first time in 2005. We reached the All Ireland Finals in 2007 and 2010 and have won many acting and technical awards along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Monday 18th March<\/span> (Confined)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Lonesome West by Martin McDonagh<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Conna Dramatic Society)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Play Synopsis: Valene and Coleman, two brothers living alone in their father\u2019s house after his<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">recent death, find it impossible to exist without massive and violent disputes over the most<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">mundane and innocent of topics. Only Father Welsh, the local young Priest is prepared to try<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">to reconcile the two before their petty squabblings spiral into vicious and bloody carnage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brief History of the Group: Conna Dramatic Society is now on the circuit for six years. The<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">group has enjoyed many acting and directing awards to date and have qualified for the All-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ireland finals on two occasions with their production of \u201cSive\u201d by John B. Period: 1964 &#8211; 2004.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synopsis of the Play: The play covers two generations of two families from 1964 to 2004 from<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the building of the tower blocks in Ballymun to their demolition, it is a humourous and poignant<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">story of their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Group History: On the circuit since 2005. Placed tenth last year and eleventh in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brideview Drama produce unusual and entertaining plays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wednesday 20th. March <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Open)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Not Now Darling by Ray Cooney &amp; John Chapman<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Haulbowline Theatre Group)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Not Now Darling: The show is set in an elegant West End fur salon where the hilarious<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">permutations and entanglements reach a point of hysteria before everyone gets their just<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">desserts. A truly uproarious farce about the consequences of attempted infidelity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Haulbowline Theatre Group History: The Haulbowline Theatre Group was founded in 1963<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and has participated in the three act circuit since 1965. The group has been in the finals on<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">more than twelve occasions. Haulbowline has represented Ireland in Aruba, Morocco and<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Germany. The group is the theatre group of the Irish Naval Service and operates from the island<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of Haulbowline in Cork Harbour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thursday 21st March <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">(Confined)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sive by John B. Keane<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Moyne D.G.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synopsis of play: \u201cThere is a hatchery of sin in this house\u201d &#8211; Prophetic words spoken by Sive\u2019s<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">grandmother in this tragic play. A tragedy that is driven by lust, power, money, green, selfishness<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and lack of morals which ultimately leads to the greatest tragedy of all&#8230; death<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Group<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Moyne Drama Group was founded in 1978 and perform two shows a year. A play in the springtime and a panto for the Christmas season. Our aim is to present musicals and plays for all ages and promote a love for all aspects of theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Friday 22nd March <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Open)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All My Sons by Arthur Miller<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Thurles Drama Group)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synopsis of the Play: Joe Keller is a successful, middle-aged business man who took part in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a terrible and tragic act. He had been running a successful factory for decades. During the war,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">he permitted his factory to ship faulty airplane cylinders to the U.S. armed forces. Twenty<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">American pilots died as a result. Joe Keller\u2019s business partner and neighbour Steve Deever,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">was the first to notice the faulty parts. Joe allowed the parts to be shipped and after the pilots<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">were killed, both Joe and Steve are arrested. Joe is released and exonerated and the blame<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">entirely lies with Steve who remains in jail. Joe Keller\u2019s two sons Chris and Larry serve during<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the war. Chris arrives home. Larry\u2019s plane went down in China and he is listed as missing in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">action. Joe Keller has framed his business partner for a crime and orchestrated his own<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">exoneration. His son Chris is now about to marry his business partner\u2019s daughter and his own<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">dark secrets and lies are revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brief History of the Group: Thurles Drama Group was founded in 1967 by play enthusiasts<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">who had simple objectives. Primarily they were to enjoy themselves through a pastime and to<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">bring quality amateur theatre to the local community. The launch of the Source Arts Centre in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thurles in 2006 brought a whole new approach to the group\u2019s work. The first production there<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">was \u2018The Shaughraun\u2019 by Dion Boucicault. The group frequently enters the 3 act All Ireland<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Drama Festival and won the Confined Section with \u2018Prisoner of Second Avenue (Neil Simon)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in 1988. Since 1988, the group reached the Athlone final of the Open competition on five<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">occasions.
